Kind of confusing i know, but is there any way to do this? The output from the macbook is a usb c port, connected to an adapter which converts it to USB A, then another adapter converts that usb a signal into a usb c signal which leads to an hdmi cable.

Has anyone else had this problem? I have a Mac air and have installed the correct software according to the instructions. When I bring up Netflix it doesn't play and the Netflix screen turns green. I got this to be able to watch Netflix from my laptop and display is on my tv. I have a j5 create hdmi to USB adapter and the model is JUA254.

I was wondering if I could use an external monitor and some how plug it into the thonderbolt port - the keyboard and trackpad both work fine.

MacBook screen is Damaged, I want to get the data from it but the USB ports are broken too - could I use thunderbolt + monitor? The screen is damaged and will cost over 300 pounds to fix, as the USB ports are broken and the battery is not as fast as it used to be, it seems pointless to spend this money and makes more sense to buy a new one, I need to get the data from the computer (ironically I was in the process of uploading to the cloud when it broke).

I'm in need of a new PC and currently chosing between Macbook Pro 13' and Huawei Matebook X 13'.

Restart the Mac with the display connected.

Check with the display's manufacturer to make sure you're using the cable they recommend.

Try using a different cable that you know is in working order.

If possible, check to see if using a different display or a different adapter works.

If your display has more than one video connection, see if using another connection on the display works.

For example, a mini DisplayPort to DVI adapter can't be connected to a DVI to HDMI adapter. Some video adapters can't be connected together.

If you're using more than one video adapter to connect your display (the adapters are 'chained' together), try connecting the display using only one adapter if possible.

If you're using a video adapter, unplug the video adapter from your Mac, then plug it back in to reseat the connection.Disconnect the video cable where it plugs into your Mac, then plug it back in to reseat the connection.
